The idea of writing an artist statement strikes me odd, because I’m much better working with images, words are not my strong suit, kind of like asking a writer to paint a picture of his life, but, here it is anyway.

I was interested in art even as a kid, my earliest memories are of wearing my dad’s shirt on backwards because the teacher had all the students wearing them like this as a smock to protect our clothes when we painted. The next thing I remember is at the age of 12 doing a full drawing of the cover of the Kansas album Leftoverture. That piece was purchased by the gentleman that was purchasing my parents house and said he would pay a little extra for the house if he could have that drawing, well my dad asked me if that was okay and I answered fine with me, so I guess I helped my parents sell the house.

The art went away and was consumed by life, especially after the first year of marriage, that year I lost
the first 2 fingers on my left hand in a industrial accident, putting a damp spirit on my ambidextrous ability
so for the next couple of years life caught us. Later I started to draw again, then people that knew me started to ask for commissions so I drew dragons, horses, portraits, dogs etc…. then people began to ask for pen and ink work, and then color work. So here I am at this cross roads of starting to sell, and figure a way to make this a fulltime position.

The one idea I have is to try and figure out how to create these images fulltime and figure how to financially be able to make prints available to children at places like Hershey Medical Center, St. Jude…..etc….

Thanks for reading and for visiting the site
